Donations accepted year round of lightly used formal wear and shoes!
Have you ever had that calling where you need or have to help someone?
Growing up and all through my life, I have noticed the less fortunate. Why? Well, because I was and am one. Always struggling to get the basic necessities.
Recently, I came across a few kids that were needing prom dresses. I asked around and were lucky enough to have some donated and they fit them. This gave me a wonderful idea.
Harper's Open Closet! Named after my granddaughter because there isn't anything I wouldn't do for her and haven't done for her. She is the light of my life!
So every year, the majority of kids are able to go out and purchase NEW dresses, shoes, accessories, pants, shirts, jackets, etc. for prom or homecoming or even school banquets and then there are some who can't go because they can't even afford the ticket to get in (that's a different problem in itself)!
My solution is twofold! You get to clean out your closets of gently used formal wear and shoes, you get a tax deduction and I get to build a closet that can help some children in the upcoming future events with their formal attire! So actually, kill 3 birds with one stone!
In addition to clothing, Harper's Open Closet or HOC, we are in need of a building, HOC needs a place to call home! Hanging racks to hang up all the wonderful donations we will receive. Monetary donations for dry cleaning if needed, admin expenses, and any other expenses that may arise.
